“…moreover, this museum should be perceived as the materialization of a fun concept. Who knows about fashion, or at least, wants to learn about fashion, have to understand to not underestimate the power of this so called “superficial industry”, but in a way play along with it. In the same aspect, we are no t interested in the over-occidentalistic concept of the large-boutique museum; we don’t want to fell into the tipologic trap of the time-line-decade gallery. The hipper-regressive aspect of the actual fashion makes more complex the discussion around its proper evolution of style. What would be the point of a building which does not propose a criticism, or at least a fiction of this retro reflect act?
In the heart of this crystal cathedral of style, the platforms dedicated to each decade are conceptualized like small scenarios, dioramas, rather than simple exhibitions halls. A dozen of microcosm, suspended in a big void, where the visitors could explore the mood of every decade and relate the curator’s view for those years with another one (the others). Linked with a high dense net of escalators and high speed panoramic elevators, every platform, (with their respective mezzanines) could be reached in a moment trough this dynamic macro-circulation. Not only the arrival from one to another fragment of this fashion tale, but also the journey within them, would make the visit more exultant, and of course, more fun…”
